Not the January Blues at Tibbiwell Alpacas

The damp muddy ground, damp muddy alpacas, damp muddy ponies and general sogginess could get us down in January.  It is true the work is harder.  There is much more to do on the farm to keep everyone healthy, fed, comfortable and happy, but there is also so much that lifts the spirits and combats any seasonal blues.  There are morning skies with almost angelic light as the sun presses through mist revealing the valley in gentle glimpses.

There are snow drops everywhere, little beacons of hope that present their selves despite the frost, wind and rain, showing us that even the tiniest most fragile little thing can succeed if it is determined and consistent.

The alpacas and the ponies are as always in good spirits.  Their delight at seeing us in the morning is increased as we are the givers of breakfast, and that is very welcome at this time of year when we are still waiting for the grass to grow. Their welcome always makes me happy.  In fact that is what the animals always do, they make me happy.  They ask for little but give such a great deal by just being themselves.

It is a wonderful thing to be part of their lives.
